Zulum’s Committee Assesses Polo, Kushari/ CBN Quarters Communities Over Flood

The committee set up by Governor Zulum since last year on flooding chaired by the former attorney General and Commissioner of Justice now APC Candidate for Borno Central senatorial District 2023 election Barr Kaka Shehu Lawan and his team were at Polo, Kushari and bayan CBN quarters communities along Muhammadu Indimi road former Damboa road.

The committee were there to assess the situation of flooding and to find the lasting solution in those communities.

The chairman of the committee directed the Chairman Borno Road maintainance Agency (BORMA), permanent secretary works and other members of the committee to making findings and recommendations for approval within a short period of time.

Barr Kaka Shehu Lawan also sympathised with the people saying that flooding is a natural phenomena that can happen whenever there is a heavy rainfall especially this year, highlights the numerous completed and ongoing construction of drainages and ongoing evacuation of drainages within the metropolis.

The committee chairman also emphasized that Maiduguri was in existence for over 100 years whereby measures to end this flooding can’t be done overnight because of the challenges that the state is facing, now that it is just picking up it pieces from the effects of insurgency.

With the reconstruction and resettlement process Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has done well in the ongoing rebuilding process.

Barr Kaka Shehu assures that with the support and commitment of the Governor the committee has been working day and night to ensure Communities are safe from flooding and other environmental hazards.
