Borno state Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has ordered the remodeling of the Maiduguri eye hospital and construction of new staff quarters and Operation Theater to serve the increasing healthcare needs of the State.
Towards increasing the capacity of private health institutions to complement Government in healthcare delivery, Borno Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has approved N50m Naira grant, ambulance, drugs, and other medical facilities to Sunni Hospital, Maiduguri.
Zulum announced the donation on Wednesday when he paid an inspection visit to a hospital located in Abbaganaram area of the metropolis.
Sunni is a private community-based hospital built by Maiduguri-based businessman, Alhaji Tijjani Bolori who died by the end of last year (2021).
Zulum also asked the hospital to recruit two doctors and four nurses to boost their staff strength, while the Borno State Government will shoulder their monthly salaries and other entitlements of the six medical personnel while they remain staff of Sunni hospital.
