
Yobe State Government has earmarked 11.7 billion Naira for the execution of road and market projects across the state.
The four roads to be constructed include Potiskum, Gashua and Geidam pavement reinforced roads, covering 12.8 kilometres.
Announcing at the State Executive Council meeting at the weekend in Damaturu, Commissioner for Information, Abdullahi Bego, disclosed that 494.14 million naira was approved to compensate owners of properties acquired to construct Potiskum and Nguru modern markets.
According to him, the Gashua 2km road with drainages is also to be built and completed at 593.1 million, naira while the Geidam 2km road will gulp 550.5 million naira with concrete drains on both sides.

Also the state government has approved 2.6 billion naira for the construction of Nguru market with 195.8 million naira compensation, while 2.9 billion naira was ratified for the construction of first phase of Potiskum Truck Transit Park.
Another 669.8 million naira also earmarked for additional electrical works at the Damaturu International Cargo Airport.
Adding that the completion could boost economic activities to raise more revenue internally in the state.
