
As the Ramadan fast draws nearer Governor Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State in northeast Nigeria has earmarked the sum Sixty three point Five million naira for the provision of Ramadan feeding to the less privileged in 42 centres across the 17 Local Government Arears of the State and for the conduct of Tafseer during the holy month.
According to a statement by Abdullahi Bego director general press affairs to the governor of the amount approved 48.5million naira would be used for purchase of rams and cooking condiments for the 42 feeding centres while 15 million naira would be used for payment of allowances for muslim preachers who will guide the faithful through out the month.
The governor has also approved the release of 1,260 bags of rice and 630 jerry cans of cooking oil.
