the Governor of Yobe state Mai Mala Buni said his Administration has empowered no fewer than 20,000 youth with various skills through training, soft loan and Buni trader money programme across the 17 local government areas.
Buni disclosed this when he received the leadership of Arewa Traders Association of Nigeria on appreciation visit to government house Damaturu.
Represented by his Deputy Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, Governor Buni said that government attaches so much importance to empowerment of its residents to boost the economic status of the state and became self-reliant.
According to him this will not only take the youth off the streets, it will also enhance security of lives and property in the state.
Mai Mala Buni commended the leadership of the association for its support and advice to government to achieve its desires goals.
On his part the chairman Arewa Traders Association of Nigeria Yobe chapter, Alh. Isa Adamu who is also the National vice president of the association, said the association is Africa’s largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy in Nigeria.
