Yobe State Assembly Receives Auditor General Report

Yobe state House of Assembly has received the report of its standing committee on public Account on the Auditor General annual audit report for the year 2019 and 2020.

Presenting the report the chairman of the committee Alhaji Bulama Bukar said the committee during it’s PAC session has invited the ministries department and Agencies that have queries in the 2019 and 2020 audit report to defend their portions with valid documents .

Alhaji Bulama Bukar said the committee has recommended the need for the executive arm of government to direct the Ric Rock constructions Company handling the Project for the construction of 25.5 KM dual carriage from Damaturu to Kalallawa to hasten the completion of the work before the end of February or face revoke.

According to the chairman the committee has also stressed the need for government organizations to ensure all procurement must undergo store accounting processes and also give Internal Audit Unit full operation to enable them perform their duties effectively as specified in the rule of financial regulations.

Alhaji Bulama Bukar said the committee despite the emergence of covid 19 pandemic in the last two years it’s proud no any arrears of outstanding audit report to ensure Yobe is among the best performing Audit institution in Nigeria.

Presiding over the sitting, the speaker of the House Alhaji Ahmed mirwa commended the committee for presenting comprehensive report that will assist government to ensure transparency and accountability in the financial transactions in the state.
