The Defense and Police Officers Wives DEPOWA in collaboration with the National Refugees, Immigration and Internal Displaced Persons, (NCRII) have distributed food items and other palliatives to the widows of soldiers killed as a result of the counter insurgency operations in the Northeast, and the IDPs.
The President of the DEPOWA, Mrs Victoria Irabor who led the wives of the security chiefs to a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, Maiduguri, said, they are collaborating with the National Commission for Refugees and Internal Displaced Persons to bring succor to the IDPs and hungry people, says that hunger makes people to behave in a way that they are not suppose to.
While commending the troops for their bravery and success in the fight against insurgency, Mrs. Irabor said they’re proud of sacrifices of the troops, and promised share their pains and have been praying for them.
Earlier in his welcome address, the theater Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General, Christopher Musa, said, the visits of the DEPOWA President and wives of other service Chiefs and top military officer will serve as a morale booster to the troops at the war front.
Assuring that the troops will be ever ready to continue with the war until peace is restore back to the Northeast and the country at large, he said.
He further said “the collaboration between the DEPOWA and the National Refugees commission will provide the needed non kinetic force end the war, assuring that Nigerian Military will continue to push with kinetic fight until destroy all the enemies of the country.
In her remarks, the Federal commissioner, National Refugees, Immigration and Internal Displaced Persons, Hajiya Imaan Ibrahim commended the military for supporting the staff of the commission and other humanitarian actors in the Northeast.

The DEPOWA were also at the Maimalari Barracks and Muhammadu Buhari camps where they distributed food items to the widows of the slain solders and the IDPs.
The Wife of the Chief of Defense Staff, Mrs Victoria Irabor was accompanied on the visit by the wives of the Chief of Army Staff, Mrs Salamatu Yahaya, Chief of Naval staff, Mrs Nanah Gambo, the Chief of the Air Staff, Mrs Elizabeth Amao, the representative of the wife of Inspector General of Police,, Mrs Hajara Alkali and wives of other top military officers.
One of the beneficiaries Jauro Buba told Dandal Kura Radio reporter that most of the IDPs taken refuges at Muhammadu Buhari camp were displaced from Baga, Cross Kauwa and other remote villages. He further explained that items distributed includes rice, noodles, oil as well condiments and cash from ten thousand Naira and above.
Buba on behalf of other Internally Displaced Person appreciated the donors and promised to make a very good used of the item distributed.
