The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it will partner with Nigerian Shippers Council to curb the smuggling of banned drugs and substances into the country through the Nation’s Seaports.

The NDLEA boss, Alhaji Buba Marwa, disclosed this on Wednesday when the Executive Secretary of Shippers Council, Alhaji Hassan Bello, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.

He said as a professional organization they collaborate with any organisation to achieve their objectives and also have a Directorate of Seaport Operations in Apapa and Tincan Seaports.

He also said that crimes ranging from insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and many others traced to drug use.

He added that it is the job of NDLEA to put a stop to the wanton destruction of people through this means.

Bello while appreciating the NDLEA, stressed that the Council would like to see efficiency in the processes at the Seaports.
