Mr Bhanu Pathak, United Nations Children Fund head of field office, Bauchi, has said that UNICEF, in conjunction with European Union (EU) had completed the renovation of 104 out of 107 Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) promised to be renovated in Bauchi state.
Pathak made this known in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Monday while handing over a renovated PHC, ‘Yelwan Duguri PHC’ to the state government.
Pathak reiterated that UNICEF would continue to partner with authorities in ensuring quality services for children, women and everybody across the state.
He said this is one out of one hundred and four (104) facilities that they renovated and handed over to the state government after promising to renovate one hundred and seven.
He also said they will continue working closely with ministry of health and primary health care development agency to provide quality services for children, women and the entire population in the state.
The UNICEF boss called on the people of the community to join hands and maintain the facility, adding that it was not enough to build a house, but absolute maintenance made it stand out.
He further explained that UNICEF and other partners such as Bill and Melinda gates foundation as well as Dangote foundation were trying their best to support the state government.
Receiving the PHC, Mr Rilwanu Mohammed, Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BASPHCDA), said that the present administration recognised the importance of health sector with keen interest.
