Women and youths from conflict-affected local councils of Kaduna State have benefitted from an empowerment Programme at the National Directorate of Employment Vocational Training Centre, Kaduna.

The government of Norway and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) funded the Programme, in collaboration with the Kaduna State Peace Commission (KSPC), for sustainable employment for the victims.

UNDP noted that 86 beneficiaries were carefully identified among the numerous victims of violent conflicts in the state, such as Jema’a, Kajuru, Kaura and Zangon Kataf local councils.

As part of the healing, the graduates underwent a two-week re-orientation Programme at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Shere Hills, Jos, in May 2021 and were later taken to NDE, Kaduna, for a 6-month skill acquisition Programme in seven trades.
