Two times Senator representing Borno-North and National Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Kyari, has called on journalists in Borno state to always ensure their news and bulletin are devoid of fake news.
Senator Kyari said he is proud of the worming journalists, especially in Borno state for standing on the path of truth and objectivity in most of their reporting about the state.
The APC national leader made these remarks when he received members of the Executive Council of the NUJ who paid him a courtesy call recently in Maiduguri.
Led by the Council chairman, Dauda Iliya, the executives had on behalf of the journalists in Borno congratulated the senator on his recent confinement of national honor and his elevation as the Deputy National Chairman North of the APC.
Comrade Iliya noted that Senator Kyari’s honor at the National level is a reward for his selfless service both at the state and national levels. He assured the senator of NUJ’s support in all of the people-oriented developmental services that he has been known for.
Senator Kyari while thanking the leadership of the NUJ for the courtesy call, also congratulated them on their recent elections as executives of the Union in Borno state.
