The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency has supported 150 victims of flood that recently submerged Nguru community.

The support comprises food and non-food items that could cushion the devastating effects of flood that destroyed many houses and shops.

While distributing the relief materials Thursday in Nguru, SEMA’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Goje disclosed: “About 150 victims of flood were identified and registered during our preliminary assessment of damages to houses and other property,” adding that the victims will now receive first-line relief support.

He said that the victims are in a lower socioeconomic group that may not survive the disaster without government support.

He assured that efforts are being intensified to bring more support to the victims and other vulnerable groups across the state.
