Save The Children Organises Media Breakfast To Commemorate International Day Of Girl Child 2022

Save the Children International organises a One day media breakfast today to commemorate international day of girl child 2023.

It is recalled that the international community has set aside 11th October every year to commemorate International Day of the girl Child with theme “Our time is now, ‘Our Right Our Future”.

The event took place at Satus Hotels in Maiduguri and attended by stake holders cut across civil service , media , youth leaders amongst others.

In his opening remarks Chachu Tadicha, Deputy Director of Program operation Save the children International, Nigeria, Maiduguri Borno state has commended governments at all levels for the achievement of signing child protection bill into law. He express concern on how to solve challenges affecting children especially the girl child.

He further stated that they’re working to ensure support to parents with a means to generate income to support their children attend schools.

Speaking on behalf of children with disabilities Hon. Aisha Muhammed member at Borno state children Parliament started by thanking the United Nations for remembering children across the world and finding solution to their most pressing challenges.

She appealed the government at all levels and NGOs to support children living with disabilities, adding by pleading to the authorities and NGOs to support their educations and other programs.

The speaker Borno state parliament RT. Hon Usman Zanna Chiroma commended save the children for the gesture .
