In an effort to strengthen security surveillance and linking the rift between communities and law enforcement agencies, the Nigerian Police Force has overtime formulate different models in trying to fetch law closer to the people, which will in-turn enrich security operations in grassroot communities.
In line with these objectives, the police force is making treads to consolidate Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC, a program instigated by the force to include civilians who will help with indispensable information to the police to boast their operations and be more valuable.
In Maiduguri, Borno State capital, the committee has on Wednesday established its youth executive members, which was commanded by CP Abdu Umar, the state commissioner of police.
The induction took place at a Conference Hall, Borno State Police Command Headquarters Maiduguri.
CP Umar has during the induction, called on the newly drafted members to be vigilant in their various localities and provide the police with necessary information that will help them in detonating their duties.
Engr. Talba Sheriff, the state chairman of PCRC in his remark called on the newly introduced excos to be steadfast and committed because an enormous task was authorized to them.
Muhammad Bukar Umara, the newly inaugurated state coordinator of the committee thanked the eminent officers of the committee for uncovering them worthy of this task and assured that he and his members will not let the council down.
He further ascertained that his team would be devoted and committed when acquitting the task designated to them.
