The newly constituted Governing Council of the College of Education Hong, Adamawa state has expressed satisfaction with the academic and infrastructural development at the College.
The Chairman of the Council Prof. Abdullahi Usman Wuro Chekke made the remarks while fielding questions from Journalists after inspection of facilities at the College by some members of the Council.
He added that the standard of the College has risen from its former status when the Provost took over the leadership of the College.
The Board Chairman called on the stakeholders to contribute towards education in the state explained that a lot of TETfund projects are ongoing in the College. include ICT, Home Economics, lecture theatre and new hostels.
He however, described the 192 old hostels capacity for male and female awarded in 1980s and yet to be completed as un-habitable due to dilapida ted nature of the structures, but gave an assurance that efforts would be made to ensure the completion of the hostels.
Prof. Wuro Chekke also expressed concern with the non-existence of road networks linking various departments within the College, noted that movement became difficult especially during rainy season.
Earlier, the Provost of the College Prof Johnson H. Pongri while taking the Council members round the facilities within the College called on all and sundry to support the education policy of the present administration for the betterment of the society.
