
As part of activities marking the Nigerian army day celebrations 2018, the Nigerian army has provided free medical care to Jiddari polo community in Maiduguri Borno state.
Similar programmes were carried out in Bama, Dikwa, Gwoza and Chibok local government areas, Speaking while flagging off the exercise, the Acting General officer 7 division Nigeria Army Brigadier General Bulama said the exercise was aimed at providing health care to communities and foster cordial civilian military relations.
He said the celebrations was aimed at effecting the first day a shot was fired at Garkem at cross Rivers state signifying the commencement of 30 month civil war which lasted between 1967 to 1970.
He assured members of the community of the continued support of the Nigerian army and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by providing information that will help the Nigerian army and other security agencies in the fight against insurgency.
