A youth group from Gwoza Local Government area of Borno State has today condemned the recent attacks on the convoy of Borno state governor Babagana Zulum even as they called on the federal government to bring an end to the insurgency in the northeast region.
Speaking under the support of Gwoza Youth Community Watch Forum the youth staged a mini-rally that culminated with a press briefing at the State Secretariat and they condemn in totality the serial attacks on the governor’s convoy.
They said they are extremely disheartened with the repeated and recent attacks aimed at the governor in the cause of fighting the insurgents and resettlement of IDPs to their various communities.
The leader of the group Engineer Hamman Saleh said that they remain grateful to all the security agencies especially those on the front line and they also want to call on the federal government, relevant security agencies and major stakeholders to intensify better strategies toward ending these incessant attacks on the Governor while taking rounds to all LGAs across the state.
He also said they commiserating with the governor and the families of those affected in the ambush and also urged the governor not to be deterred by this attacks.
The group also salutes the statesmanship of governor Zulum towards returning the IDPs back to their various communities despite all odds and urged the well-meaning citizens of Borno state to remain prayerful, supportive to the governor and remain vigilant at this trying time.
