The wife Taraba State Governor Br. Anna Darius Ishaku has urged Chairmen of local government councils in the Northern part of Taraba to take the campaign on Gender Based Violence,GBV to the grassroots.
She stated this during an Advocacy visit on Gender Based Violence,GBV in Zing Local Government of Taraba State.
The Governor’s wife remarked that the Gender Based Violence has been on the increase in the country and in particular Tarabans state.
Anna Ishaku said it is the responsibility of all to join the fight against the pandemic.
The Governor’s wife recommended the need for funding for Gender Based Violence GBV set up Management committee that will support the campaign.
Earlier in his welcome address on behalf of chairmen local government councils, Northern zone, Hon. Andrew Luka Zanya said GBV is a global pandemic, deeply rooted in gender inequality and is fundamentally a human rights violation.
The Chairman explained that the councils from the Northern zone will support the campaign and equally extend same to the grassroots.
