Nigeria: We Will Refund Hajj Fares To Adamawa Pilgrims – Board

Adamawa state Muslim pilgrims Welfare Board says it will refund hajj fares to intending pilgrims that have completed payment or have made part payment.

Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Salihu who made this known while briefing newsmen at the Board Headquarters in Yola said the decision followed cancellation of this year’s Hajj for international community by the Saudi Authorities as part of measures to control the spread of Corona virus.

He said the board took the decision to refund the money after wide consultation with stakeholders including intending pilgrims who want to get their deposit back.

He added that the board will only make refunds through bank accounts or Bank drafts in the intending pilgrim’s name.

Salihu urged those who want to leave their deposit against next years Hajj operation to do so, and assured them of safety of their monies.

He explained that those who wish to get their money should write to the Executive Secretary of the Board through their schedule officers from 13th July to 7th August, 2020 to enable the board commence the process of refund.

The Executive Secretary reiterated the commitment of the Board to operate based on international best practices.
