The Victim Support Fund Wednesday flagged off reconstruction of public buildings in Gwoza, Mobbar and Ngala local government areas of Borno state northeast Nigeria.
Executive secretary of the Fund Professor Sunday Ochoche who launched the reconstruction programme in Gwoza handed over building materials to Borno state Governor to cover the entire project.
He said the sum of N1.6 billon has been earmarked to facilitate the building and reconstruction of schools, hospitals, hostels, staff quarters and secretariat in the three local government areas.
Chairman of the found General TY Danjuma represented by the Vice chairman Alhaji Tijjani Tumsa reiterated the commitment of VSF to support victims recover for the devastation of Boko Haram insurgency.
He expressed the hope that the reconstruction programme in the three areas will restore civil authorities and return to normalcy explaining that the fund would carry out such programme in Dikwa, Chibok, Danboa, Askira/Uba, Hawul, Gwoza, Mobbar and Ngala local government area.
The occasion was attended by Governor Kashim Shettima and Senator Ali Ndume where the government said work would be carried out expertly and the funds judiciously utilized.
