
The United Nations has allocated $15 million Dollars to fight hunger in the North East.
A press release by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said the Emergency Relief Chief, Mark Lowcock has allocated a total of $15 million Dollars emergency funding to address rising food insecurity in north-east Nigeria.
It lamented that the ongoing crisis affecting Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states and the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic are driving hunger to alarming levels.

It decried that up to 5.1 million people are at risk of food insecurity in the crisis-affected states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe.
