Taraba State Government has approved the establishment of a Model Ranching and Livestock Training Center in the State.
Taraba State Commissioner of Information and Reorientation Danjuma Adamu made the disclosure after the State Executive Council meeting Chaired by Taraba State Deputy Governor Eng. Haruna Manu at the Exco Chambers Government House, Jalingo.
He said the Center will help livestock farmers mitigate crisis and improved their productivity in line with the Open Grazing Establishment and Ranching Law.
Danjuma Adamu also disclosed that the State Governor has also approved the procurement of fertilizers and Assorted seedlings.
Shedding more lights on the approval, Taraba State Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural resources David Ishaya Kassa said the Model Ranching and Livestock Center would help to educate livestock farmers with the use of modern equipment. He emphasized that Youths would be trained to grow grasses and provide livestock feeds to the Model ranching and Livestock Center.
David Kassa who applauded Governor Darius Ishaku effort in Agriculture stated that the eight hundred and four metric tones of seedlings,Sesame and Rice seeds including the thirty metric tons of sixty thousand bags of fertilizers would be distributed to farmers at subsidized rate.
