Nigeria: Taraba Governor Charged Citizens To Enroll Contributory Health Insurance Scheme

The Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has charged Citizens of the State to enroll into the State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme.

The Governor who was Speaking during the Flag up of the Taraba State Contributory Health Insurance Agency in Jalingo said his administration remain passionate to the health need of the populace mostly the poor in the Society.

He stressed the need for the Agency to initiate action that will reduce high mortality rate among infant, Children and as well improve life expectancy.

Governor Ishaku said his administration has invested in the health sector through employment of Staff Infrastructure development,rehabilitation of hospitals and others.

In his Opening remarks the Commissioner of Health Innocent Vakkai said the State Social Health Insurance Scheme is coined from Rwanda experience whowhere able to meet Universal Health Coverage for all Citizens after recovering from genocide.

On his part,Executive Secretary of the Primary Healthcare Development Agency Aminu Jauro Hassan promised to work collaboratively to enable the Agency to succeed.
