The stakeholders at the Northeast Security Summit urged the Federal Government to urgently increase the funding of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies involved in the fight against insurgency and other form of crimes in the region.
The Summit held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Government House,Maiduguri and the participants in a 14 point communique at the end of the Security Summit.
Borno State Governor BabaganaUmaraZulum urged security agencies involved in the fight against insurgency to continue to do more.
The participants of the summit said there is need for the Northeast Development Commission to assist the Governors of the Northeast, toward providing more logisticsto the security operatives in the zone.
The Summit further encourage the governments at all level to engage in dialogue with the insurgents so that those who may want to repent and exits insurgency can do so easily.
