Nigeria Red Cross Celebrates 2019 Red Crescent Day In Borno

The Nigeria Red Cross society Borno state branch, Northeast Nigeria mark the occasion of the 2019 World Red Cross and Red Crescent day celebration.

The occasion held at the Red Cross, headquarter Maiduguri to assess the success and challenges the society came across for the past one year of rendering services to humanity in a Boko Haram affected region

Speaking during the occasion the chairman Borno State branch, Bulama Mali Gubio said activities of the Nigeria Red cross were started in 1917 when a show knows as Adam orisha, was organised in Lagos to raise funds to assists the wounded soldiers of the first worlds war.

The Nigeria Red Cross society become the 86th members of the international Red Cross Red and crescent movement in 1960.

The Red Cross all over the world works based on the principles to serve humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence voluntary service, unity among others.

Bulama Mali Gubio thanked the participants and those who have enormously contributed for the services to the humanity.

Internally displaced people in the state commended the efforts of Nigeria Red Cross society for helping them in many traits of humanity
