Nigeria: President Buhari Approves To Name Agbor Train Station After Jonathan – Amaechi

Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi says Nigeria’s Warri-Itakpe standard gauge rail line is set for commissioning.

While inspecting the Warri-Itakpe rail line, Amaechi expressed satisfaction with the quality of work at the various stations.

According to him, all 10 stations along the corridor have been completed and President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the main station which is the Agbor station be named after former President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to him, railway is about cargo so NRC will lay its pipes to convey products from Warri port to the stations and any production from Ajaokuta will also be conveyed by rail.

He said discussion was ongoing with Dangote and BUA cement on cargo operations adding that it would start immediately the rail starts working.
He also said it is difficult to give a timeline as work had to slow down due to Coronavirus pandemic.
