Nigeria: Police Arrests Kidnappers Of Channels Television Staff

Nigeria police arrest persons involved in the kidnap of channels television staff and they recovered arms and ammunition.

Police Operatives attached to operation Puff Adder, acting on intelligence report arrested three notorious persons involved in the kidnap of Channels Television’s staff, Mr. Friday Okeregbe.

The suspects Hanniel Patrick 29 years from Akwa Ibom State, Abdulwahab Isah 28years and Salisu Mohammed 32years both from Kogi State have made useful statement to the Police.

Meanwhile, investigation reveals that Mr. Okeregbe was not originally the intended target of the vicious criminals. However, Investigation further reveals that the victim was taken to the kidnappers hideout in Karmo Abuja.

The Police have also recovered from the kidnappers a locally made revolver gun, three live AK47 ammunitions, a battle-axe, phones and masks with which they blindfold their victims.

In another development nine notorious criminals on Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, meet their waterloo as Police operatives pursued recovered Ak47 rifles, 1 Pump Action Gun, 1,206 Rounds of Ak47 Ammunition, 7 Magazines, 28 Cartridges and 158 Expended Shells.

The unrelenting efforts to root-out criminal elements terrorizing commuters along Abuja and Kaduna expressway, recorded additional successes with the recovery of six AK47 rifles, one pump action gun, one thousand, two hundred and six rounds of ak47 ammunition, seven magazines, twenty-eight.

The Inspector General Police, Ag. IGP M. A. Adamu reiterates his call for support by the public to the Police and other sister agencies, as he gives the assurance that the war against armed bandits will soon be won.
