Nigeria: People Celebrates Eid el Fitr Festival in Darkness at Borno and Yobe

Damaturu the Yobe State Capital in Northeast Nigeria has been without electricity for a couple of days now thereby adversely affecting social and economic activities of the people.

However the Damaturu office of the Yola electricity distribution company attributed this to a collapsed tower along Gombe- Potiskum 132kv lines explaining that transmission Engineers are working round the clock to restore supply.

In Maiduguri Borno State also in Northeast Nigeria, residents have been in darkness for almost three days without explanation.

The city of over 4 million people are celebrating the Eid el Fitr festival in darkness a development that has affected their social life.
