Members of Northern Photographers Association NPA in Kano, Katsina and other northern states of Nigeria have converged in Jigawa state to mark this year’s World Photography Day.
According to NPA President Lawan Muhammed, photographers from the northern part of the country planned an excursion trip to historical places in Dutse, Jigawa state, pay homage to the Emir of Dutse as well as display different photographs were taken by members.
Lawan Muhammed on Wednesday said that the day was set aside to celebrate the art, craft, science, and history of photography as well as to establish a strong synergy between operators of the sector.
He added that photography has gradually become an important part of life not only for the photographers but also for the ever-increasing medium of personal expression and appreciation for countless people across the world.
Similarly, member of the organizing team of this year’s celebration Malam Sani Muhammed Maikatanga revealed to Dandal Kura Radio that, photography ought to have reached a dimension that all sector couldn’t do without adding that, NPA vows to redeem that status as well as improved on it.
