
The Executive Vice Chairman, Nigeria Communication Commission, Professor Garba Danbata said that Nigeria needs five billion US dollar to implement broadband plan.
Danbata stated this at a stakeholder consultation with industry players on the implementation of the Nigerian National Broadband Plan 2020-2025.
Danbata who was represented by the Chairman, Broadband Implementation Steering Committee, Ubale Maska told the gathering that the new plan with the estimated budget of about five billion dollars is anchored on recommended initiatives to be implemented by all stakeholders.
The Programme Director Project Management Office, Broadband Implementation Steering Committee, Abubakar Maina while presenting the details of the document said the new plan which among other targets aimed at ensuring that cost of data crashed from the present 1,000 naira per gigabyte to three hundred and ninety naira per gigabyte by the year 2025.
