Nigeria: NAOWA Will Train 400 Widows In Maiduguri

The Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association NAOWA 7 Division chapter flag off high impact community projects to promote civil Military Relation in city of Maiduguri, Borno State Northeast Nigeria.

Speaking at the flagging off ceremony the president of the Association Mrs Aisha Bulama Biu said upon my assumption of office as the president I saw the compelling need to support the dogged and untiring efforts of our troops who are daily fighting against Boko Haram insurgents in our land.

Mrs Bulama said the projects are to improve the living condition cost people ravaged by Boko Haram activities.
The project lined of for execution is the provision of water boreholes in the indigenous communities of Auno, Shagari low cost housing estate B, Shuwari and waddiya villages for a Start.

A dressing that the motivation behind this project is base on the observed water scarcity around Maiduguri and need to provide succour to the good people and these communities.

The association will conduct skills acquisition training programme for about 400 widows and other family members to empower them for gainful self-employment.

Bulama said NAOWA in order to boost the civil military relationship to as to expand intelligence-gathering space, as well organization football and volleyball competitions for Clubs and Youth in Maiduguri.

The wife of Borno State Deputy governor Hauwa Usman Mamman Durkwa who flagged off the project expressed appreciation for NAOWA to have put such a productive effort in place to cushion some of the challenges in the communities around Maiduguri.
