The Nigerian Army Officers Wives Associations (NAOWA) 7 Division Chapter has awarded scholarships to 10 Orphans of soldiers who lost their lives during the counter insurgency war empowered 600 barracks women as they commissioned three blocks of classrooms.
While speaking at the scholarship award, ceremony, commissioning of classroom blocks and provision of grant to barrack women which held at the NAOWA Nursery and Primary School Maimalari Cantonment In Maiduguri.
The Divisional President Hajiya Halima Ibrahim said that she is pleased to inform them that they are awarding full scholarship to 10 children of personnel who have lost their lives in the cause of the Boko Haram insurgency.
Mrs Ibrahim said that the scholarship covers the payment of complete tuition and extra moral fees, books, school bags and complete set of student from admission to graduation from the school.
She also said that they hope the subsequent administration of NAOWA will continue with the good work and perhaps build upon.
In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Brigadier General Abdul Ibrahim said that the occasion of the commissioning of the block of classrooms is laudable and is a reflection of the Nigerian Army commitment to education.
