Major General Chikezie Ude a Nigerian has assumed duties as the Commander of Multinational Joint Task Force in Ndjamena Chad on Thursday. Speaking shortly after the ceremony the new Commander thanked his predecessor for remarkable achievements during his tenure and also thanked the Executive Secretary of Lake Chad Basin Commission and the Head of Mission Ambassador Mamman Nuhu for supporting the troops.
General Chikezie Ude told troops and African Union mission support team that he would continue with where General Irabor stopped and solicited support to quickly eradicate the terrorism of Boko Haram.
Ambassador Nuhu in his remarks praised the outgoing commander General Irabor and assured the new commander of the support of the African Union and the Lake Chad Basin Commission.
