Nigeria: Leah Sharibu Begs Nigerian President From Boko Haram’s Den

The Dapchi schoolgirl, Leah Sharibu, has sent an audio message from the terrorists’ urging President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver her from Boko Haram captivity.

According to the 35 seconds audio obtained, Sharibu, who spoke in Hausa Language said, she is Leah Sharibu, the girl that was abducted in GGSS Dapchi. Sharibu calling on the government and people of goodwill to intervene to get her out of my current situation.

If recalled, Leah Sharibu was the only Christian among the abducted 119 students of Government Girls Secondary School, GGSS, Dapchi, Yobe State, on February 19.

Meanwhile, the Presidency reacted, saying the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration will spare nothing to ensure Leah and other girls abducted by Boko Haram regained their freedom, just as the Department of State Services, DSS, is analysing the audio.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in his Twitter handle said, the government is aware of the audio concerning the unfortunate situation of the girl (Leah Sharibu).

The government admitted, however, that efforts to secure her release by the insurgents had been tortuous and complicated.
