A Borno state high court judge sitting in Maiduguri Northeast Nigeria has warned that unless drastic action was taken to stop the trend, Nigeria would surpass India where a rape is committed every five minutes.
Delivering judgement on Wednesday justice Wakil Alkali Gana sentenced one Musa Musa a fifty year old business man to 14 years imprisonment without option of fine for luring a girl to his room and forcefully raping her. The judge said he lacked words to describe the father of 10 who lives in Kantudu road Maiduguri.
In the same vein one Adamu Jauro of Kwaya Kusar local government area has also been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for luring one Hauwa Ayuba to his house with biscuits and raping her.
