International Committee of the Red Cross supports the training of trainers organized by the Federal Ministry of Health, Public Health Department, in collaboration with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and participation of the World Health Organization and the Federal Ministry of Environment.
This was contained in a statement issued by ICRC Public Relations Officer Aliyu Dawobe in Abuja
The training, which will focus on best practices and procedures for the adequate management of the dead in sanitary emergencies, is targeting 30 persons and will take place at the Federal Ministry of Health HQ in Abuja from July 20th to 23rd.
Juan Manuel Guerrero Rodriguez, ICRC forensic specialist said mismanagement of the dead may have serious consequences for healthcare and death care workers. Moreover, it can affect the grieving families, struggling to come to terms with their loss.
