Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku says he will continue to accord priority to Local Government administration in view of its proximity and ability to engender rapid development to the masses at the grassroots.
The Governor was speaking during a swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected chairmen of the sixteen Local Government Areas of the State held at Rimi Primary School,Takum.
While congratulating the chairmen for their well-deserved victory at the poll,Governor Darius Ishaku said the massive turn out of people during the ceremony was a clear testimony of their popularity and accountability amongst their people, and urge them to justify the confidence reposed in them.
He commended Tarabans for conducting themselves peacefully before, during and after the election which he described as free, fair and credible.
Governor Ishaku also applauded the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission TSIEC for a job well done despite the economic hardship faced globally as a result of the COVID -19 pandemic.
Responding on behalf of the elected chairmen, the chairman Association of Local Government of Nigeria ALGON, Abdulnaseer Bobboji thanked Governor Darius Ishaku, the People’s Democratic Party PDP and the people of the State for the confidence reposed in them and assured of their commitment towards bringing rapid socio-economic development to the people at the grassroots.
