Governor Babagana Umara, says the state government under his watch will not be deterred by Boko Haram’s recent attacks on four communities in the state.
The terrorists attacked Gajiram, Gajigana, Dalori and Gubio communities killing several lives and destroying property worth millions of Naira.
Umara stated this at the inauguration of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps agro-rangers squad at Government House, Maiduguri.
He said the state government is committed to end Boko Haram insurgency in order to restore peace and stability.
He also renewed calls for the insurgents to surrender for de-radicalisation and reintegration into society.Meanwhile, the governor has urged Gubio residents not to flee over recent Boko Haram attacks and relocation of troops.
He said the relocation of troops from Gubio is for the Army to re-strategise to protect lives and property in the community. He, therefore, dismissed allegation that troops have relocated from the community to 145 Battalion, Damasak, about 102 kilometres from Gubio.
