Nigeria: Foundation Distributes Sanitary Pad To Women In Kushari Ward Of Maiduguri

October 11 each year is a day set aside by the United Nations to observe the Girl Child day i.e the international day of the girl child. With this year’s theme “my voice our equal future.

Umminrashida care foundation commemorate this day by distributing sanitary pads to teenage girls in Kushari community ward behind C.B.N quarters in Maiduguri.

The founder, Aisha Adamu Abdullahi said girls child are seen as a precious girl to mankind and they are also very important in the society. For this,she intends to put a smile on the faces of the teenage girls in kushariarea with this little gifts.

Aisha called on the public to treat, love and respect girls as they are mothers of tomorrow. Adding that every girl is entitle to live free from gender based violence, access to education, legal rights, medical care and to be free from forced child marriage and discriminations.

She called on parents especially the mother to bring their children closer to them and to take the girl child just as their friends as this can bring about mutual understanding and will make the child feel free to discuss any with them.

Some of the beneficiaries Fatima Muhammad and Fatima Mustapha thanked Umminrashidacare foundation adding that apart from the sanitary pad they recieved, they have learnt alot on how to keep personal hygiene.

On his part,the community leader Bulama Adam expressed his gratitude saying that it is not the first time the foundation is visiting his community. He therefore called on the masses to emulate the kind gesture.
