An official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency with the Adamawa State Command Mr Samuel Abba Birma popularly known as Mbakwe has been murdered while his colleague was seriously injured by mob suspected to be drug dealers in Hong, headquarters of Hong local government area of Adamawa state.
The killed official hailed from Hildi in Hong local government area where the chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah hail.
The NDLEA officials were said to be on official assignment conveying some drug suspects arrested in Michika to Yola when they met the mob action in Hong.
The Police Public Relations Officer Adamawa State Command Deputy Superintendent of Police Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje who confirmed the incident to our Correspondent in Adamawa state Hasan Umar Shelpela said that the investigation has commenced to reveal those behind the act.
He said the outcome of the investigation will be known public and law will take its course arrest will be made and whoever is behind the act will be prosecuted. He advised people to stop taking laws into their hands.
The State Commandant of the NDLEA could not be reached as he was said to have travelled out of town, but a competent source at the command headquarters described the incident as unfortunate.
A brother to the deceased personnel Hon. Ayuba Musa Birma called on the authorities concern to fish out the perpetrators of the evil act and made them to face the wrath of the law.
He described the deceased as a humble and hard working person who does not compromise his official duties.
