President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday ordered an investigation into last Thursday’s reported incident, in which gunshots were fired around the State House.
In a statement on Sunday, by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu noted that the incident never took place within the walls of the State House and did not portend any danger to both the safety and health of the President.
It said while revealing President Buhari’s reaction to the incidents noted that the President would allow the law to run its course on the matter.
The statement, however, expressed disappointment over the sentiment being woven around the incident by the opposition, especially for using.
This particular incident happened outside the main residence of the President and the Armed guards and other security personnel assigned to the State House receive the necessary training of especially weapons handling and have their rules and regulations.
