The Vice Chancellor Borno State University, Prof, Umar Kyari Sandabe has appealed to the North East Development Commission, to intervene by assisting the state government in funding the Borno state university.
Sandabe made the appeal when he led management staff of Borno State University to courtesy call on the North East Development Commission.
He then solicited for the commissions assistance and intervention in the area of Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Faculty of Engineering Building and Central Mega Laboratory.
Others include Transportation i.e, buses for students and vehicle for maintenance and security, upgrading of the university clinic and ambulance, as well as 11/33KVA power substation.
He commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his concern and support which spurs the management to position of Borno State University to its present level.
The Managing Director of NEDC, Mohammad Goni Alkali lamented that education is one of the challenges facing the state.
He describes establishment of Borno State University as one of the best thing that happened to the state and assures that NEDC will immediately, assess where it can come in without delay, while other requests will follow in due course.
