The Borno state police command has inaugurated members of the Police Advisory Committee.
The members of the committee are local government chairmen, traditional leaders, organizations and associations, hunters, transport associations, religious bodies, marketers association and as well head of community head.
The inauguration took place today Monday 24th August 2020 at the Borno state police headquarters by the Assistant Inspector General Zone 15 AIG Lawan Ado and was graced by the presence of the Borno State Commissioner of Police CP Muhammad Ndatsu.
AIG Lawan Ado says that community policing is about partnership and collaboration between the police and the members of the public. He described the exercise as a new paradigm shift, a new trend in policing whereby proactive policing is what they want to achieve.
The CP Muhammad Ndatsu in his address said that this is a process where all community members and leaders will take charge of securing and policing their communities with support of the police.
He says in all the twenty seven local government areas of the state, fifty members will be selected to be part of the committee. And the criteria to selection of members will be from age 25 to 40, self-reliant and have good record.
CP Muhammad Ndatsu call on the members to partake in carrying out their works diligently and be good ambassadors of the community.
