Borno state government in northeast intensified efforts that brought the end of the water scarcity in Maiduguri metropolis by procuring two new 750KVA and 1100KVA capacities generators for Alau dam and water treatment plant.
While inspecting the installation works, the commissioner for water resources Zanna Abubakar Jabu thanked Governor Kashim Shettima for his generosity of procuring the two generators, required with immediate effect to cushion the hardship being experienced by the residents.
The commissioner also commended the staffs for their dedication saying the ministry will improve on their welfare to boost their moral for more productivity.
The measures being taken to address the lingering water scarcity has greatly hindered most parts of the metropolis which necessitated consumers acquiring 25 liters of water on the average amount of N60
The frequent power outrage occurred as a result of attacks on the power sub-station near Molai town by the insurgents the commissioner added.
Dandal Kura gathered that residents of Maiduguri metropolis have experienced such scarcity for the first time in more than fifteen years.
