Nigeria: Borno State Governor Celebrates Eid With IDP’S in Maiduguri

The Governor of Borno state Northeast Nigeria Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has yesterday celebrated Eid el Fitr and completion of Ramadan Fast with Internally Displaced Persons IDPs at different Camps in Maiduguri and distributed cash, wears, food items and condiments to the newly arrived survivors as result of incessant attacks by the Boko Haram insurgent in the state.

Professor Zulum received by the chairperson of the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA Yabawa Kolo among crowd of Jubilant IDPs when governor arrived the teacher’s village Camp.
Governor Babagana told the internally displaced persons that, ‘we know your situation and we’re assiduously working to make sure that we take you back to your communities within a shortest possible period of time to continue with your farming activities.

The 350 new arrival from Doron had with immediate effect received sum of five thousand Naira, one back of 50k rice and salt, and one piece of wrapper each and vowed to build them place where they will temporarily stay prior to the resettlement.

He warned the camp Manager to equally and accordingly distribute the items and the cash meant for the new arrivers to avoid consequences. However, the positive distributions of will rank him to next credible reward the governor said.

Laraba Musa a displaced young woman with her three children told the governor Zulum on behalf of the others that they have spent six months living open space of the camp suffering from various diseases with their children. adding that she hasn’t see her husband again since after the incident that brought them to this IDPs camp.

The Governor also visited IDPs from Molai who have recently joint the NYSC Camp along Tashan Kano owing to the renewed activities of the insurgents living without proper access to meals which led governor Babagana to support to over 360 of them with one 50k rice, salt, condiments, wrapper and five thousand Naira cash to cushion their hardships.

The governor promised to also resettle all the IDPs prior to which his support to them continues.
