Nigeria: Bauchi Assembly Called On State Government To Tackle Erosion

The Bauchi state house of Assembly has called on the Bauchi state government to tackle erosion ravaging some parts of the Local government areas in the state.

Alhaji Dan’umma Bello representing Giade Constituency made the call in plenary on Tuesday in Bauchi under the matter of urgent public importance.

He told legislators that soil erosion is affecting some areas of Giade Local Government hence the need to call on the attention of the State Government to come to the rescue of his Constituency.

According to him the previous administration has awarded a contract of a road construction from Giade to Jugudu to Kurba but due to the shape of the economy cause by covid-19.

He said so far erosion is washing away the parts of the road constructed in Jugudu Town.

Bello added that currently erosion threatens Azare-Misau road at shinkani town, Sabon Sara, Isawa, Kurba, Zirami roads among others.

He therefore called on the House to call on the State government to set up a committee to find out what is happening and take immediate action.
