Nigeria: Bama Initiative Organises Special Prayer To Commemorates 6th Bama Attack

Bama Initiative has on 1st of every September commemorated the attack on Bama Local Government by Boko Haram Insurgents since the year 2014. This year’s event was tagged “One Day Prayer and Dialogue Session held in Bama at the Bama Local Government Council Chamber.

Apart from this particular year, all others were done in Maiduguri the State capital.

Today’s prayers session was led by the representative of His Royal Highness the Shehu of Bama, acting chief Imam of Bama emirate council Shettima Kaka Shettima Kori and attended by Secretary Bama Local Government Shettima Abdulwahab Alkali Umar, Chairman Bama Initiative Mohammed A Hassan.

Highlight of the event was presentation of lecture by Shettima Mohammed Bakir where special prayers were offered for the departed souls, protection of the security operatives in the counter insurgency operations and return of the lasting peace to Bama Local Government area, Borno State and indeed Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Initiative during his welcome address appealed to the Federal Government for the implementation of the Bama Initiative pilot scheme of the reconstruction of the North East approved in 2016 that housed construction of 3000 houses, 18 primary and secondary schools, 10 clinics, and divisional police office of Nigeria Police Force among others.

He also appealed for the commencement of the construction of Maiduguri -Bama – Banki Federal Highway so as to make the road conducive for motorists.

A homage was paid to the Grand patron of the Initiative, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Kyari Ibn Umar El- Kanemi the Shehu Of Bama immediately after the prayer session where the chairman expressed gratitude for the royal father for his continuous support of the prayers in his domain towards realization of lasting peace to the communities within Bama and indeed Borno State.
