
Nigeria Army neutralized 2,403 suspected criminal elements in various operations across the country between March 18 and December 30.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations Gen. John Enenche gave the figure on Thursday while giving update on operations conducted to check criminality in the country during the period.
He also said that during the period under review, troops rescued 864 kidnapped victims across the country.
Giving the breakdown Enenche said that in the North-West, 5,281 livestock, 6,951 rounds of ammunition and 120 assorted rifles were recovered from the bandits during the period.
He added that 455 kidnapped victims were rescued in the zone, while 473 bandits were killed in action in the period under review.
Enenche also said that troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole also rescued 200 kidnapped victims in the North East Zone.
According to him, 1, 385 rounds of ammunition, 45 grenades as well as 95 assorted rifles were recovered from Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province fighters in the last 10 months.
