Nigeria: Adamawa Police Set To Arrests Security Outfits That Wear Their Uniform

Adamawa State Police Command has set up taskforce team to arrest and prosecute some members of the Civil groups, Vigilantes and other Quasi security outfits do impersonate police by wearing police uniforms.

The measure might not be unconnected with activities of some criminals and militia groups disguising under the cover of uniforms to perpetrate crimes.

In a statement issued by the Command’s image maker DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said the taskforce team is to checkmate, apprehend and prosecute offenders.

The statement quoted the Commissioner of police OLUGBENGA ADEYANJU, warning offenders to desist forthwith from impersonating the police and operate within the context of the law.

The statement enjoins the entire people in the state to cooperate with the taskforce team as they carry out the full enforcement of the rule of law.

The command reassures it’s commitment to protecting lives and properties and call on people to report any suspicious movement around them to police for necessary action.
