Nigeria: 800 Youth Benefits From Empowerment Programme By Member Umar Yapak In Adamawa

As part of efforts to reduce poverty among the people of Verre Constituency in Adamawa State, the member representing Verre Constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly Alh Abdullahi Umar Yapak has donated cash running into millions of naira to eight hundred (800) people under his empowerment programme.

While presenting the money to the beneficiaries at the Multipurpose hall located at the College of Nursing and Midwifery, Yola, the lawmaker said the programme is aimed at improving the social wellbeing of the people and creating job opportunities to the women and youth, and also to encourage small scale businesses.

The establishment of this programme is chief among the promises made to electorates during political campaigns in 2019.

In her remark, the Head of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency in Adamawa, Hajiya Aisha Bawa Bello lauded the empowerment programme initiated by the lawmaker.
